Do you use your hot tub in summer? We mean for its conventional purposes.
When you think of summer, you think of water. But maybe not hot water. Just as many of us switch from hot coffee to cold, from hot tea to iced, well, we may think more about swim spas and backyard pools than hot tubs in summer. But we might be missing out. Before you drain your hot tub and give it a thorough scrubbing until autumn, read on: A hot tub can still be a centerpiece of summer relaxation and entertaining, even when the mercury gets moving.
Well, It’s Not Always Daytime!
That’s right. You need to rest at the end of a long workday and so does the sun. Your hot tub can be a dusk destination even in the doggest days of summer, if you dial it down a dash or two. Take date night outside and relax in the cooling air with your spouse or significant other, beverages, and a bevy of blissful bubbles. Or just get out there solo with only the moon and some crickets for company. In either case, we recommend a fruity drink and some low swing jazz. And a quality hot tub from Goodall Pools & Spas, of course.
Soak It Up, Buttercup
If your goal is wellness, using a hot tub in summer is likely going to be part of your fitness routine no matter what we say. And you know it’s still exquisite: Perspiring cools you down, tension melts away, stress steps out. Leave the teens to their texting, the tots to the toy trains, the spouse to housework, and go get wet with the jets. Because taking care of your health helps the whole household. Routine muscle maintenance.
If Your Hot Tub Isn’t Facing East…
…Sit on the other side. Yep. Just as with the PM plunge, your hot tub in summer can be a sweet seat for steeping and peeping the sunrise, no drastic dialing down required (maybe a click or so). Do the dew and watch the day renew. We’re not sure we recommend your usual morning beverage, however: Coffee and tea are diuretics, and keeping highly hydrated is a must in a hot tub, regardless of the season. But you can’t go wrong with water or juice. Orange and grapefruit juice go great with a Goodall hot tub.
Make It Cool
You don’t have to turn it down all that much, even. You know by now that a hot tub hovers around a hundred to a hundred and four degrees. Compared with that, your body temp is tepid at ninety-eight. Water at that temperature will feel… whatever the outside equivalent is to “room temperature.” No need to dump buckets of ice in there.
But the Kids Are Good Hot Tub Company, Too
Of course, a lot of your family’s favorite outdoor activities can include a hot tub, but some of your family’s indoor activities can be moved to the hot tub as well. Game night, for example (we recommend against hide-and-seek), and movie night, as well: A well-positioned projector and screen, some good cool soft drinks, and a film fitting for your family – avoid the Jaws franchise, for example – and you’ve got a night of relaxation, fun, and bonding, in your hot tub, in the summer. Kids love bubbles.
