Just when you had a groove going for pool season, you see it: a tear in your liner. Immediately, your brain goes to work anticipating how much a pool liner replacement will cost. Between the economic inflation and the busy schedules of the repair experts in central Pennsylvania, you wonder if you will have to close the pool early this year.
Don’t panic! Goodall Pools & Spas can help you when it comes to replacing vinyl pool liners. We know how long you waited to have those awesome pool parties again, so we replace that liner as quickly and economically as possible. Here, we share a few important questions to ask yourself as you budget money and time for a pool liner replacement.
When Will My Pool Liner Need Replacing?
In general, vinyl pool liners last 10 to 15 years. So if your current liner was installed around the same time Mr. Bean appeared in the Olympiad Opening Ceremony, now may be a good time to replace it.
Maybe 2022 was the year you planned for a big pool renovation anyway. In which case, great timing! Our team at Goodall Pools and Spas can replace the liner as well as the coping around it and the pool deck if needed.
What if things don’t go according to plan, and you notice a tear in your liner before a decade is up? No problem. By working with us, you don’t have to move mountains to get that liner replaced.
How Is a Pool Liner Replaced and How Long Does the Process Take?
If the liner is the only component on your replacement list, it won’t cost you much in terms of time. At Goodall Pools and Spas, we usually complete a basic liner replacement (or what we call a “liner flip”) in two days.
On day one, we drain the pool, rip out the old liner and install a new one. That same day, we replace the “white goods” (i.e., the pool jets, skimmer face plate, and other components fastened against the liner that collect gunk over the years) and refill the pool with water. A couple of days later, we return to remove any creases that may have formed in the liner (if any).
In the case of a complete pool renovation, the procedure and timeline depend on how much of your pool you want to be remodeled. Our expert pool builders work with you to determine exactly how much time and money it will take to realize your vision (including your new pool liner).
How Much Will I Spend on a Pool Liner Replacement?
A basic liner flip typically costs between $7,000 and $12,000 depending on the pool. You have the option to add on or replace other items in the course of a liner replacement (i.e., a pool pump, pool light, salt system, coping, etc). Each of these items can raise the cost by roughly $1,000 to $3,000.
Each of these updates enhances your pool’s look and extends its lifetime significantly. So give your liner a close inspection.
