If you are thinking about renovating your pool, fall is a great time for you to start planning for the project. At Goodall Pools & Spas, we can help you decide what pool renovations are best for you. After asking you for some information, we can also advise you as to what work needs to be done.
Is Your Pool Holding Water?
The first thing we need to know before determining what renovations need to be made and when they should be done is whether your pool is holding water. If the answer is yes, you can wait until the spring to replace your liner, but we can still start planning in the fall.
If your pool is not holding water, you will want to replace your liner before you close your pool for the winter. The liner must be able to hold the water through the winter. If you lose a lot of water over winter, it can cause extra bottom damage. Pressure from the water helps hold your bottom in place and helps prevent freeze damage. If the bottom “pops” during the winter, it can lead to a much more extensive and costly renovation in the spring.
Planning Ahead for Your Pool Renovations
If your pool liner is holding water and you want to plan for a pool renovation next year, we want you to know that we book far in advance and a lot depends on the weather. Liners cannot be installed during cold weather. To make sure they look their best, we must wait until Mother Nature gives us warmer temperatures. This means that we are generally unable to begin pool renovations until about the second week of April. Then, we line up our work according to clients who have paid deposits. If you know you want to do a pool renovation in the spring, it is best to book your project in the fall to ensure your spot in line.
