Swim spas are designed for swimming, and most come with powerful jets that will provide an amazing massage. In fact, they’re referred to as “swim spas” because of their ability to let you enjoy a legitimate swim experience in a spa-like environment. So if you’re looking for a great way to get exercise, relax, or relieve stress, a swim spa is the perfect option.

What are swim spas and what do they offer?

Swim spas offer many features and benefits that make them a great investment for your home. Not only do they offer the same relaxing hydromassage features as a hot tub, but they also provide an excellent form of exercise.

They are also equipped with swim jets that pump a steady current of water with adjustable speeds through the tub. This lets you swim “laps” just as if you were in a traditional pool, except you are swimming against a current in a single spot.

Because swim spas are smaller than a pool, they cost much less to heat and maintain. They also take up less space, so they are perfect for smaller yards or patios.

How are swim spas different from traditional hot tubs or spas?

Swim spas are larger than most hot tubs or spas, so you have room to both swim and soak. Many models include both a swimming tub and a separate hot tub for relaxation purposes.

What are the benefits of owning a swim spa?

One of the best things about swim spas is that it lets you exercise and relax in one convenient amenity. Unlike a traditional pool, it lets you swim against a current within a confined space. This gives you a superb option for a low-impact workout. That should come as great news to people wanting to stay in shape without too much strain on their joints and muscles! Whether your goals are to train your butterfly stroke, stretch your hamstrings, or build muscle tone with the help of pool weights, your swim spa is on your side.

When the workout is over, switch to relaxation mode in your spa by sitting among the soothing hot tub jets.

Use your swim spa’s size to your advantage. Invite friends and relatives over for the biggest, best hot tub party in the neighborhood – even during the winter!

How much do these amazing things cost, and how can you afford one?

Another great benefit of swim spas is that they are relatively affordable. The initial investment may be higher than that of a traditional hot tub, but swim spas offer much more in terms of functionality and health benefits.

Also, if you’re thinking about buying a pool in the future, don’t make a purchase before looking into swim spas. Certain high-end models may be comparable in price to a pool. However, swim spas are usable year-round, unlike pools which are usable only in warmer months. Therefore, if you invest in a swim spa as opposed to a traditional pool, you’ll get more bang for your buck.

How Much Does a Pool Renovation Cost in 2022? https://goodallpools.com/how-much-does-a-pool-renovation-cost-in-2022/ Thu, 29 Sep 2022 16:00:00 +0000 https://goodallpools.com/https-goodallpools-com-how-much-does-a-pool-renovation-cost-in-2022/ It’s hard to believe, but the 2022 holiday season is at our doorstep. And the 2023 pool season seems like a happy thought for the distant future. This is when we at Goodall Pools & Spas get the most questions about a swimming pool renovation cost. Because, as crazy as it sounds, Memorial Day 2023 will be here before we know it.

So how much does a pool renovation cost in 2022? The short answer is, “It depends.” There is a multitude of decisions you can make that will impact the cost of your pool makeover. Therefore, we suggest asking a different question: what is your budget for a renovation?

Depending on your available resources, you may find that sticking with the basics is your most practical option. Or, you may be pleasantly surprised by your savings and go for a complete renovation. Whatever your decision, the pool and backyard renovation experts at Goodall have the experience and expertise to breathe new life into your pool environment.

Questions for Determining Your Pool Renovation Cost

Calculating a pool renovation cost is easier if you ask yourself a few simple questions before closing up for the winter. Below are some of the essential points to consider when deciding how much you want to invest in your pool’s upgrade for 2023 and beyond.

  1. How does the pool liner look?
  2. How well are the pool deck and backyard supporting the pool?
  3. If we could change just one thing about the pool’s look, what would it be?
  4. What financing options are available?

1. How does the pool liner look?

If you own an inground, vinyl pool, your renovation questionnaire should address the liner first. Even if your pool environment looks and feels ideal right now, you can still count on needing a liner replacement every 10 – 15 years.

After enduring a decade-plus of chemicals, weather, UV light, and pool parties, the liner will show signs of wear and tear. Letting it go unreplenished puts your entire pool structure at risk of critical deterioration and, thus, more costly repairs in the future.

Your pool renovation should be a choice, not an emergency. So budget $7,000 to $12,000 for a liner replacement if 2022 is your year for the change. Read more about vinyl liner replacement costs in our blog, How Much Does a Pool Liner Replacement Cost in 2022?

2. How well are the pool deck and backyard supporting the pool?

We say it almost every day in the Goodall Design Center: It’s not just about the pool. Whether you’re building a brand new pool or enhancing your current one, the objective is to create a fabulous pool environment

How much would you really enjoy your pool if it weren’t complimented by a reliable pool deck and an inviting backyard setting? Not much. Furthermore, your pool wouldn’t hold up as well, either. The pool deck and the surrounding landscape need to be as structurally sound and attractive as the pool. Otherwise, you’re in for some hazardous conditions and a drop in your property’s overall appeal.

So once you’ve given the pool liner a thorough, honest assessment, move on to the surrounding areas. How is the coping on your pool deck holding up? Do you see cracks or chips in the concrete? What could happen if your guests encounter these flaws while dripping with pool water? These questions have major safety implications for you and your loved ones. So be shrewd about the look and feel of your pool deck.

The same goes for the remainder of the backyard as well. In our blog, Building a Swimming Pool in Pennsylvania: What are the Requirements? we detailed some of the regulated backyard features of a swimming pool design.

One of the non-negotiable items on this list is a fence. The pool structure needs to be surrounded by fencing that measures at least 48 inches in height. The “fencing” can include the house if, indeed, the house connects to the remaining fence perimeter and its entry point to the pool has a self-closing gate with an automatic latch.

What does this have to do with your pool renovation? Safety and functionality. By renovating your pool, you have an opportunity to make your pool more code-compliant.

With each modification, you add to the renovation cost. But the payoff is threefold: you protect the pool, you protect your loved ones, and you elevate the entire backyard aesthetic. All of these translate to your long-term enjoyment of the pool and a possible raise in your property value.

3. If we could change just one thing about the pool’s look, what would it be?

With the essential pool features covered, you’re ready to consider the flourishes. Color. Shape. Water features. All the stylistic additions that make your pool a unique signature in your outdoor space.

The whole point of custom pools is to offer people multiple design options based on their preferences. Some people may be more than happy with a traditional shape and a classic pool look. Others may want a contemporary piece like what they see on the covers of the trade magazine. So if you have funds left over once you’ve brought the essentials up to date, ask yourself this: “If we could change just one thing about the pool’s look, what would it be?”

Your answer could be, “Nothing.” In which case, great! But if there is, indeed, one element that makes it to the top of your “Nice to have” column, let the designer know.

Maybe you wish the stairs were in a different configuration. Or perhaps you’d love a tanning ledge for when you want to soak up a little more sun than water. Or the sight and sound of cascades pouring water into your pool are just too enchanting to pass up.

The point is this: start with one idea, and see where that puts you budget-wise. If you still have funds, move on to a second-choice feature. This practice gets you to effectively prioritize what is worth renovating your pool. For more inspiration on reimagining your pool’s look, visit our blog, Should I modernize my swimming pool with something trendy or classic?

4. What financing options are available?

Always remember that no matter what your bank account reads, there are always pool renovation financing options to explore. At Goodall, we help connect you to reliable financing institutions that can tell you exactly what you qualify for.

Our loan application page is open 24/7 and takes only about a minute to complete. Within 24 business hours, you’re notified of your financing options. How Much Do Above Ground Pools Cost and How Long Do They Last? https://goodallpools.com/how-much-do-above-ground-pools-cost-and-how-long-do-they-last/ Mon, 21 Mar 2022 16:00:00 +0000 https://goodallpools.com/https-goodallpools-com-how-much-do-above-ground-pools-cost-and-how-long-do-they-last/ Getting a swimming pool for your backyard is exciting. And it also means that you want to know which type of pool will be the best option for your family. There are many types of pools available. Perhaps you are strongly considering an above ground pool. So just how much do above ground pools cost and how long do they last?

Goodall Pools has been helping the people of Pennsylvania with their swimming pool needs for close to six decades, in the Susquehanna Valley and beyond. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff is here to help you as you learn all of the details you want to know about an above ground pool.

Above Ground Pool Costs to Consider

First, let’s talk about the costs of an above ground pool. The initial investment for an above ground pool is considerably lower than the cost of in-ground fiberglass or vinyl liner pools. This fact alone often helps families make the decision to get an above ground pool. The above ground pool cost will be determined by a few factors.

Obviously, the brand of pool will have an impact on the price, as each company builds their swimming pools a little differently. The size and shape of the pool can alter the total cost a little bit as well. At Goodall Pools, we have amazing above ground pool options from Radiant® Pools. The pools come in DIY kits that are equipped with mostly everything that you will need to successfully get your pool up and running with very little hassle.

These high-end swimming pools last much longer than typical above ground pools. Currently, in 2022, our Radiant kits are about $12,000. You get the pool walls, a vinyl liner, a pump and filter, a ladder, start-up chemicals, and even some vacuum supplies with a kit purchase.

Once your pool is in use, you will need to remember to figure the costs of upkeep and running the pool into your monthly budget as well. Goodall Pools has all of the pool maintenance items that swim season will require. From Bioguard® pool chemicals to the pool accessories you can’t live without, we’ve got what you need.

Extent of Enjoyment to Expect

Second, let’s look at how long you can expect to enjoy an above ground pool. Some above ground pools are not built to last and need to be replaced within an average of 7-15 years. However, when you purchase a quality above ground pool, the lifespan increases greatly.

In fact, Radiant Pools guarantee their above ground pools for life because they have complete confidence in their manufacturing. Here is the lifetime warranty information for Radiant Pools to give you the peace of mind that your investment will be completely worth it.

Radiant Pools are extremely durable. Their engineering comes from technology that was originally designed for NASA. Their brand is reliable and has been around for 65 years. Having an above ground pool from Radiant means having a safe swimming pool that is guaranteed to last for generations to come.

We’ve answered your valid questions about how much do above ground pools cost and how long do they last. Let us also reassure you that Goodall Pools has pool financing options available when you are ready to get the above ground swimming pool your family will love. Come see us at one of our five stores today!

Backyard pools are a luxury that not all homeowners get to experience. During swim season, this fact becomes very apparent. As you hear your neighbors splashing and having loads of fun, you’ll probably want to take the leap and have a custom pool built in your own backyard. While this dream is fresh, another thought will enter your mind — Should I get on a pool builder’s waitlist?

Goodall Pools & Spas has been building custom pools for over 50 years. We speak from experience when we say that getting on a pool builder’s waitlist is very important. Here’s why you should contact us to get on our waitlist.

Pristine Pools Are Increasingly Popular

Swimming pools do not just magically appear in backyards anywhere. Pristine pools are increasingly popular for families. Custom pools are in demand, which means they cannot be an impromptu addition to your yard. To help our skilled installation teams plan their schedules, we have a waitlist for people dreaming of adding a pool to their home.

Adding your name to the list is the best way to ensure that your dream pool will be a reality as soon as it is possible for it to be. Many waitlists extend a year or two, which is all the more reason to get your name on the list ASAP.

Distinguished Homeowners Dare to Dream

When you put your name on a pool builder’s waitlist, you are daring to dream. A waitlist seems important, right? You distinguish yourself from other would-be pool owners when you place your name in the next slot on the “pool coming soon” list. This means you can start designing your perfect backyard oasis.

Getting started with a new pool is a very exciting feeling. Goodall Pools specializes in above ground pools and inground pools. We proudly partner with Latham Pools and Leisure Pools for our in-ground fiberglass beauties. We also carry DIY kits that allow you to install your own above ground pool from Radiant®.

Our gallery of pools is a great place to see the finished pools that our team has helped to create. Our staff is also available to discuss the features of each pool type to help you decide which is the perfect choice for your family.

The Waitlist Is Worry-Free

A pool builder’s waitlist is first come, first served. There are no cuts in this line! Knowing your name is on the list gives you the reassurance that your pool installation is important to the builders too. You don’t have to worry about anyone who was not on the list before getting a pool ahead of you. When you get your spot reserved, your timeline of anticipation has officially begun.

Even though waiting can be difficult, the waitlist assures you that there is a finish line up ahead. The builders will give you an estimated timeline of when your pool construction can get underway. This gives you time to plan for all the things pool ownership includes. From pool financing to pool fun, Goodall Pools is here to help you plan and prepare for your backyard pool.

Should I get on a pool builder’s waitlist? A resounding yes is your answer. Stop by one of our retail stores to get your name on the coveted list. We have 5 convenient locations, and we’d love to make you part of our pool family.

How to Plan the Ultimate Backyard Swimming Pool Installation https://goodallpools.com/how-to-plan-the-ultimate-backyard-swimming-pool-installation/ Thu, 11 Apr 2019 22:15:05 +0000 https://goodallpools.com/https-goodallpools-com-how-to-plan-the-ultimate-backyard-pool-installation/ We know what you’re thinking.

A swimming pool would be a fabulous addition to your already spectacular backyard! And we totally agree. But if you’re planning to install an above-ground or in-ground swimming pool in your outdoor space, you’re going to need the perfect plan. That’s where our experts can really come in handy! The team at Goodall Pools & Spas has put together a foolproof plan to guide you through the purchase, delivery, and installation process.

Read on and we can take the plunge together!

Create a Plan

First thing first: make a plan.

This plan should be in-depth and cover several different areas, including:

  • The needs/wants of you and your family
  • Your budget
  • Estimated start and finish dates
  • Landscape ideas

You might even find it handy to look through some local home and garden magazines or hop on the Internet to find some photos of backyards that you admire. Once you’ve found a few that have elements you want to incorporate, print or cut them out and keep them with your plan for future reference.

Find the Right Swimming Pool

Having this detailed plan with you is going to make shopping for a swimming pool incredibly simple. When you visit your local Goodall Pools swimming pool dealership, you can present the salesperson with all of the important information they need.

This information should include:

  • Whether you want an in-ground or above-ground pool
  • Your budget for the overall purchase and installation
  • Your monthly budget after the installation is complete
  • Your estimated start and finish dates
  • Your personal preferences and must-haves

With this information, your salesperson will have a general idea of exactly what you’re after. They can present you with the best swimming pools for your backyard, budget, and timeline.

Delivery and Installation

Once you’ve found the right pool, it’s time to bring it home!

Your dealership will most likely offer a delivery and installation service or be able to get you in touch with a contractor who can do the job. Make sure that your backyard is prepped and ready for delivery and installation by removing clutter, cutting the lawn and preparing the landscape, unlocking any gates, moving your vehicle(s) from the driveway and out front of the house, and being readily available on the proposed dates.

The delivery and installation process can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, so be sure to have open and constant communication with your team to ensure that the process moves quickly and smoothly for all parties.

Quality Landscaping

Once your pool is installed, it’s time to revamp your landscape. No backyard swimming pool installation is complete without colorful flower gardens, beautiful green grass, trimmed trees, privacy-enhancing bushes, and everything else in between!

You might even want to consider extending your deck or patio area to connect with your pool. You can do that by installing additional decking, stairs, or patio pavers. Alternatively, a pathway or stepping stones is a cost-effective and charming way to connect your yard and create a much more welcoming atmosphere.

If you aren’t sure where to begin with your landscaping, ask your pool dealership if they work with any local gardeners or landscaping companies.

Accessories and Finishing Touches

It’s time for the finishing touches!

This includes everything from outdoor furniture and BBQs, to exterior lighting, fire pits, sound systems, and more! Look back to your original plan and see if any of your favorite backyards had accessories that you admired. This is also a good time to invest in swimming pool toys, chemicals, and other pool supplies.
